Wild & Creative Days - Fashion Design and Animation
Improving self-esteem, motivation and achievement through creativity
Children are all, or can all be creative to some degree. Creativity enriches childrens' lives, giving them the opportunity to discover and pursue particular interests and talents.
Children who are encouraged to think creatively and independently become;
- More interested in discovering things for themselves
- More open to new ideas
- Keen to work with others to explore ideas
- Willing to spend time pursuing an idea or vision.
Wildchild's Wild & Creative Activities include:
Animation and filming enables children to develop creative, team working and technical skills. Animation is a co-operative exercise that utilises the varying skills of children in a group, getting the best out of them.
Our Wild Animation workshop is "hands-on" and children will:
- Look at the history of Animation. From the first animated film, 'Enchanted Drawings' in 1900, right through to today's Aardman and Pixar productions
- Learn how to draw using simple line shapes
- Create their own characters to model out of plasticine
- Operate technical equipment to film their animation
- Explore other animation techniques, including flip-books and pixellation
Learn about the glamorous fashion industry! Children can bring one old or out of style item and rework it, using various fabrics and art materials. Using our experienced Tutor's design skills, transform it into a new and trendy piece of clothing. Also learn, through magazines and various resources, about up-and-coming fashion trends and all about fashion's "do's and don'ts".
